You're all forgetting Q and not U w/Food For Animals @ The Troub that same night...

Then again, the OTC probably would top any of these shows. Have fun, Derris...

I really want to go to Spaceland for Dead Meadow... I'm digging what I heard of them so far, plus I haven't been to Spaceland in ages. But, I'm frickin broke too.

I'm really interested to see Manhunter who is opening up for Q and Not U @ the Troub tomorrow just because they're on my favorite label- Ghostly International. But I doubt I'll make it out.

From Amoeba:

Friday - April 15th - 6 pm
JENNIFER GENTLE
Italian psych-pop duo Marco Fasolo and Alessio Gastaldello celebrate their first US release "Valende" - out now on Sub Pop Records.

"Valende proves Piper at the Gates of Dawn-era Floyd to be just one influence among many, and the rapturous melting pot of their sound also incorporates Joe Meek-inspired sci-fi daffiness, the adventurous instrumental textures of Nino Rota's film music, as well as tender-hearted loner-folk. And it's all combined with enough sheer homespun oddity that Jennifer Gentle's unique sound has even managed to awe the enlightened likes of the Sun City Girls and Acid Mothers Temple (whose Kawabata Makato has toured and cut a live radio session with the duo.)"
- Pitchfork

And see Jennifer Gentle Live at Spaceland (with Dead Meadow) April 15th.

their new album on sub pop sounds nothing like their earlier stuff.

the new album has hints of merseyside 60's, prog, the coral, americana.

I've heard bits-n-bobs of this new record including track 'Do Dream You' that Discostu posted last week. The first thing that came to mind was the pop chaos of CSE.

Well, I did what I could, but I'm not making this show. No one will work for me, even though I offered to pay them. And my friend (who is sort of the reason for this crappy work shift I have...) said he would switch with me if he didn't find a ticket. Then he called some friend of his in NY and got a press pass through them. Bastard. There may be one more person I can try that I just thought of last night, but I don't see that happening. :( So, while I'm slinging burgers and fries with feta and yelling at drunk people, have fun... or come visit!

Oh, but I will definitely be at BrewFest on Saturday, followed by Lunch Paper's 10th anniversary dress-up cocktail party... can you imagine? A bunch of townie punks dressing in their finest....
