So whatever, but I want to see Bright Eyes and the Faint at the Riviera. (no boxoffice) Due to not having a box office I must resort to Ticketmaster. Before ticketmaster fucks me the tickets are $25 a piece, but after I select two tickets and go to check out the total is $70.84. Is this right? I want Pearl Jam to fight this!

$10 per ticket is about right. It's their usual $5 fee plus postage/handling.

I was looking at tickets for the Go-Betweens in LA. I think they are $15...but yeah, the bullshit handling was $5 plus some other $2.50 bullshit venue charge. I can get them mailed for free though. Anyway, that's fucking absurd. Two tickets for the price of three.

Forked out about $20 in service charges today for 2 Kraftwerk tickets

$112.15 in all for a show w/ reserved seating that'll end early, no wonder I love cheap loft parties with all night bars

if you're going to see Bright Eyes, i think you've got bigger problems than the price of the ticket...

No no no...Ducky, submit your order to the Troubadour via fax -- soooo much cheaper and you don't have to go through the hassle of buying your tix via Ticketmaster. For additional information, go to the Troub's website -- www.troubadour.com

No, I think my problems are only ticketmaster. I enjoy Bright Eyes and I like the Faint a hell lot more, so this is a pretty good bill. It surprises me Ticketmaster is still even around with all these other services out there now. Oh well.

I don't see how they can justify charging 50% of the price of a show to print you a ticket for said show. I especially hate when they use terms like "convenience charge". Fuck them. Bastards.

Horrible. I've found that when buying 2 tickets, the extra charges end up adding about the price of another ticket. There doesn't seem to be any consistency to their pricing. If I go to a show that's $10/ticket and take my girlfriend, it'll cost about $30. If I go to a show that's $25/ticket and buy two it'll be about $70-75. Apparently Ticketmaster uses more expensive paper to print tickets to more expensive shows.

Another charge that makes no sense is the "printable ticket" price when purchasing over the internet. When I bought tickets to the Yankees game last week I was given the option of printing the tickets from my computer for a $2.00 fee or picking them up at will call for free. How does this make any sense?

Good lord, so $60/ticket? Man... totally cannot afford that right now, hopefully it won't sell out within the next few weeks.

I will do my damndest to drive to the venue & buy tickets at the box office. That being said, Seattle definitely isn't Chicago or LA and I can usually pull this off on my lunch hour.

The only way I use their online services is for something like Sasquatch where I have no choice. They are bastards, but they have music fans right where they want us.

Where I work the ticket services charges go something like:

below $20 = $1.00
above $20 = $2.00

I'm mighty proud that we're not service charge assholes.
