This bears repeating. I am as sick of complaints about us not talking music anymore, so read it and weep, or just weep. Because apparently there is no pleasing everybody. (Even me, that's why I started a thread about being mad about people being mad about the fact that we don't talk about music, even though they are wrong.) Please pay particular attention to the parts in ALL CAPS. It is good advice many of you should follow.

Here's the thing, if you can't find out about new music on this board, you need to go down to a pawn shop, buy a gun, put it in your mouth, and pull the fucking trigger, because you are too GoT DAMN STUPID to contribute ANYTHING TO YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY OR SOCIETY.

In the past three weeks I have downloaded at least 15 albums of bands and mixes and stuff that I WOULD NEVER HAVE HEARD OF ANYWHERE ELSE. Radcliffe and Billzebub alone know more music groups, genres and etc...that I like than i would ever have been able to discover through traditional resources or media. I put up three or four music threads last week about kick ass bands I was curious about, and within a day Dalen YSI'd me one of the albums i was curious about. If you want to know something about ANY group, big or small, known or unkown, mongerous or wuss rock...SOMEONE will know them ,and make it available to you. Fuck I think I typed half a page about the downfall of Wilco, Radiohead and OUtkast last week...so there's music all over this mutherfucker.

Oh, and one last thing to keep in mind: These are the Golden Years. Get busy livin or get busy dyin.

That ol' boy I work for is gone, and I just cracked a tall boy, but you are right.

It just seems that in every thread, somebody comes in to bitch about the content.

i mean, they have that right, it just gets older with each passing day. (Kinda like my attitude to some of y'all I guess, but Jebus.) Start amusic thread if its that fucking serious.

I was going to refrain from this thread (though I agree w/ the Hon. Sen. to a degree), but I wanted to acknowledge the Springsteen in this post.

Did I miss a memo or a meeting? Are there MORE "there's nothing about music" whining that I missed?

Dave, I've never thought of you as being hypersensitive, but...don't ya feel you're being so in this case? Cuz the only person I really see bringing it up is you. I seriously thought it was a dead issue.

In my lifetime with the CMJ/Obner crew, I've learned that people are ALWAYS gonna find something to bitch about. Who fuckin' cares? If you're gonna complain about something, let's complain how some of us create a fuckin' list for EVERYTHING!! How the hell do they do that? You want me to create a list of what now? A Top 50 CD List of Artists You Wish Your Mother Listened To! Ohhh yeah, lemme get right on it. What's funny is that someone probably HAS that list already to post!! Shit, I can't even create an Excel spreadsheet of all the albums I have, yet, there are people on this board who've practically created software to maintain that shit!!! (No offense to you listmakers, I still love ya.)

Dave, I think you need a hug, dammit. Let's go drink Guinness at your dad's pad, ok? Oh wait, I've given up alcohol for a couple of months..shit.

I do agree, though, that this board is a wonderful resource for new music and a great place to ask questions about bands or genres that you are not experienced with. I think that's why I come back as much as I do. It never fails that when I post a question about some random person or artist I have never heard of that someone knows something about them and is willing to answer despite any personality/worldview disagreements in religion threads or politics threads. That's what I like about it. People can get mad and rant in NMR threads and hate each other but in the same posting session can agree or even help someone they despise out. haha.

For instance, I think Chase hates me. However, if that's the case, I still believe that he would answer a question of mine about a band he loves. Even if that's not true, I choose to believe it is. So there.

Also, half of this board actually know each other it seems. That being the case, I think it lends itself to topics that are not always music related. It's a message board plain and simple. Context Nazis can burn themselves alive if they don't like it. :)

Well, No Crap it's over the top, Tania, it's ME I am the self appointed rabble rouser in these parts ;)

I'll take a hug, and drink some Guinness though. I just think it is funny that we spend as much time talking about what we do or don't talk about as we do talking about whatever that is.

The unexamined life is boring, though.
