You know the artists I'm speaking about:
They're the ones who can sing ANYTHING and make it sound beautiful; make the ABCs melt your heart.

Who are those singers by whose mere presence a song is elevated to greatness (or near greatness)? Who, when they sing, can do no wrong?

My picks:
Sam Cooke
Willie Nelson
Nina Simone
Van Morrison
Otis Redding

Think of it... magic.

Aretha Franklin

At one time I would've said Grant Lee Phillips, but in recent years he keeps trying to prove me wrong.

I'll go with the obvious choice of Jeff Buckley.

I'd add Allison Krauss. God I love her voice.

I'll throw out one to get flamed.

Elvis Presley.

Damn I forgot another one. He's well off most radars on this board, but Don Williams has one of my favorite voices, so much so that I bet he could tell me I terminal cancer and my obituary would probably include a mention of all the fucked up shit residing on my computer and I'd still think, damn, that's good....
