Wow... how do you follow that....

Seriously, I love this Mini-Series. The only problem I have is it is hard for me to watch a single episode without wanting to keep going, and keep going etc.

Beyond being superbly done, and so realistic, I can't believe how good the cast is. From Winters on down it's so spot on. Just knowing that Dick Winters is plowing some field out east in spring blows my mind. We owe everyone who serves soo much...

Apparently the fucking jumps over France were totally shitty, and a ton of folks got shot the fuck up

The D Day episode captures this pretty well. The pilots saw that fucking flak and had the throttle too high for the jumpers. A lot of guys were knocked out from the wind shear. They were scattered to shit for days. That feeling of total isolation when they hit ground would have probably made me lose my shit.

Oh, I didn't mean it like that. Just think it's cool, that's all.

This miniseries is so fucking good, and this shit is so real, I get cold when they are cold, I feel tired when thet are dragging ass. It makes me smile when they are happy, etc..

And, above all I think, fuck a lot of these are younger/my age and they went through this shit, so I could lay in bed and watch tv and post on this message board?

That shit always freaks me out when I think about how in many cases these were just kids. Not just WW II either.

I cannot imagine myself in that shit NOW let alone the 18 year old me.

My dad never talked about his experiences in WW 2 except to say stuff like "well I was just a radio tent operator" and "at least I didn't get killed." I found out from my mom and other older relatives that the tent was always in advance of the front lines and that he saw many people get killed on quite a few Pacific islands.

Speaking of Band Of Brothers, Scott Grimes supposedly called the station last week promoting his single, but the boss's wife had no idea who he was and just took a message. That's okay, it's a bland-ass song anyway.

Day of Days was just on..when Withers looks out over the fires and says he thanked God for helping get through D-Day and prayed that if he got him through D-Day + 1, that he would live a life of peace just had me bawling like a baby. Fuck me!
