So as I was randomly searching through bins at my local music store today, I came across something that struck a memory. I couldn't quite remember the link, but it came to me. It was this cd. Since my recollection was of the positive sentiment I decided to purchase the virtually unknown disc. I proceeded to get in my car and give it a listen. After hearing the first half of the disc, I couldn't figure out why I remembered this band. The band sounded like a rock'n'roll boy band(no, it wasn't the juliana theory). So I looked in the insert and the back page was a photo of the band. I remembered instantly. The lead singer went to my highschool. Formerly Dave Gimenez, now Dave Elkin. Mind you, my high school was small. By small, I mean that I graduated with 11 other students. 3 of which scored 1600 on their SAT's. I was not one of them. The band is MAE and they just released their second full album a few weeks ago. They're on tooth and nail, and man are they bad. haha.

But maybe I can strike up a conversation with my ole buddy dave and get a demo to Tooth and Nail. haha. I would need Aaron to certainly delete this thread though, so there was no record of my distaste of their music. But, I am not too disappointed I spent money on it because I figure I should support them anyway. He was a cool guy. Probably still is. Who knows.

Mae are non-threatening, emo-ish radio rock. well, their first album at least. i dug a few songs off of it actually.

it's been a year or so since i've even heard them, let alone knew they had a new album out.

Oh yes. I realized also that I have a demo they were selling in Va Beach in Jan. of 2003. Haha. I talked to the dude after the show and he rambled on about some possible record deals with Tooth and Nail. I think I even knew that they had their first album out, but at the time I thought it was like any other time I have spoken with some performers. They always talk about negotiations with record labels and such but it always tends to be bullshit.

This here dude here my cousin what I used to play with. I figured he'd never remember me, but my wife ran into his uncle yesterday who said he'd pass on the hellos to Ellis and see if he want to give a holler back.
