Just heard a new song on the radio. It wasn't as strong as some of the stuff from the first album, but i don't know what the new album is like (other than that one song). They're an eight-piece from Melbourne.....discuss them here...

Have heard several new songs in the past couple of weeks and like all of them. Have to hear the whole thing, though.

I only have Fingers Crossed, but it's a great little pop gem. Not as complicated as other twee-ish orchestral pop artists, but very likable songs.

There's a stream on this page that I'm listening to right now (AIH hosted a show):

I haven't fully listened to "In Case We Die" but I have skimmed through it all, and it seems good, if not a bit different. Idk, I think that if you liked the first album it's probably worth your time to check out.

I'm anxious to see how In Case We Die is embraced. I really like it, but it's just a tad more gimmicky than the last one (i.e., it seems influenced by musicals)

I think it's a very strong record, the first half especially. It peaks early (I think Fingers Crossed peaked late)

There are a couple good tracks on it, but in general these guys don't excite me all that much.

I loved the last one too... but I just realized I actually thought they were Finnish... is that stoopit or what. So I thought they were kind of like Erlend Oye or Notwist... sorta English Pop in translation. I'll have to listen to them again and see if I like them as much knowing they are aussies. Esse est percipi.

If by Finnish you mean Australian, you are correct. No one with English as their second language could write music this insane (except for maybe the Japanese).

RIYL: Of Montreal, Mum, Death Cab For Cutie, Belle and Sebastian, Danielson Famile

And what is the Saigon Mixtape?

This album is creeping into my top 5 of the year. The new sounds and approaches are starting to click with me. Its becoming the new setting for spring/summer.
