From the Twin Tone site, here's some videos of a Replacements live set from 1981 (they were backing up Husker Du). It's pretty amazing to see Westerberg as an uppity young punk again (although even then he sounded like a crusty ol' crank). And Bob Stinson even looks healthy. And Tommy's only 14 fer chrissakes.

Kind of a nice snapshot of that alternative '80s (y'know, the one that didn't include synths, headbands, angular hairdos, and John Hughes movies).

SWEET!

Yeah, my computer doesn't have Quicktime. I'll have to view when I get home.

I love this type of shit.

I wish there was more footage of bands like the Replacements. I'd love to see some early 70's footage of the New York Dolls.

It's really cool...a buddy burned it to DVD for me awhile back. The video & audio doesn't synch up perfectly on the DVD, but somehow that seems right.

Thank you. I've a couple Replacements bootlegs ('81-'83) from 7th Street Entry, Minneapolis if anyone's interested. Give me a yodel. Or don't.

Don't fret, Rami, I'm sure in 20 years time there'll be some great historical footage of Josh Rouse rockin' out.

is that an oxymoron ? ;-D

One of the best shows ever - The Mats' at The I-Beam in SF circa 1983.
Watching Westerberg hurl over the side of the stage whilst playing during the encore was an added bonus as well.
