...is already up to $15.50 after only 12 hours. This makes me happy.

Wow, it's so funny that you posted this, as I just noticed last night that a guy was attempting to sell his copy of Telephono for $59 on Amazon.

Steve

Yesterday at Half.com there was one listed at $125.

Edit: just checked, and that one's gone. Now there's one at $65.

My lord. It's almost enough to tempt one.

Now it's up to $25 - this will cover the cost of the new Spoon album w/bonus disc, a used CD from my favorite store, and spicy crazy noodles from my favorite Thai restaurant.

People will pay a lot of money for mediocre albums.

I once sold all of my 12" vinyl by The Fall. The proceeds paid half my rent that month.

I'm glad I'm crazy about music instead of KRAZY! about music. Paying more than $20 for a CD is silly in my eyes.

I sell stuff all the time, but only if I'm really sure I won't want to hear it again. With a few exceptions, I've always been on the mark.

hehe. I stopped selling back CDs for several reasons. #1 I got rid of most of my early nineties rap, and will always regret it. It was pretty much pointless and I really wish I had shit like Redman's first album etc.

In college I traded in some stuff that I had not been listening to of late, basically to party for a weekend, and one of those (can't believe I'm admitting this) was "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road."

I have since bought it back, but that is exhibit A of bad decisions. I have probably 50-75 CDs that I NEVER listen to either because I'm just not that into it anymore (Dead Dick's Picks come to mind) or I never really "got it," nothing is jumping out, but you know what I mean.

I almost got rid of Elvis Costello and The Attractions Greatest Hits because I had read that he was the 'angry youg man' of that period, and it starts with Allison (yes, I can be THAT fickle in my tastes). I pulled it out 6 months later and Radio Radio came on, and well, I realized the error of my ways.

Oh, and $125 for a CD, maybe if it were like 6 CDs of Stones outtakes or something, but I got Telephono off of FT today on ichat ;)

Nope. I think I have 3, 6 and 9 something like that. 3 is worth it just for the first disc. It's Hartford, CT 1980. Rocking versions of Alabama Getaway and US Blues.

A lot of the stuff also reminds me of who I was and what I was into at that time. Maybe it just reminds of who I was hanging out with, but i really like having most of thestuff I have.

Nowadays I pretty much just d/l/trade in stuff around here. I have only purchased ONE disc this year. Kinda sad, but I have got to sock away some money.

I'm all for selling out of print stuff like this. People will pay crazy prices. I sold my OOP Criterion version of Dead Ringers for $75. Everything is bound to be reissued sooner or later, as Dead Ringers already has (granted, not Criterion, but supposedly as good of a transfer, anamorphic to boot). I plan on selling my shit ugly copy of Pierrot le Fou as it seems to currently go for $40. And with cds its even better, because you can just burn yourself a copy too (and some people can do this with dvd too).

The winning bid was $69.50. I was worried that the winner wouldn't pay (she had no feedback at all), but she sent the $$$ via paypal seconds after the auction ended.

People are nuts.

Sweet!

And stay on the lookout for a CD copy of The Wraith soundtrack - that assy thing goes for $160 and more on ebay just because it's got some non-album Ozzy track.

Game Theory's Lolita Nation is another outlandishly cherished item on ebay - and the fugger used to be available in every delete bin in the country for 99 cents. I think I've sold that album twice in my life.

That was the car movie without any decent cars in it, right?
