Anyone heard the new album 'Milk Of Human Kindness'? I'm pretty sure there were a few Manitoba fans on the board before but I've not seen any discussion of it.

Every review I've read has made great claims and I'm actually verging on excited about listening to this. I bought it today but I won't get the chance to listen to it until tomorrow night.

Anyone?

I was all... "What the fuck?!?!"

It's O.K., but busy at times.... If you liked "Up In Flames", you'll probably like it - gets a good roll goin' on within a few tracks too. It's just that the songs never seem to evolve enough for my likin'..

Maybe I have to give this another listen later on today, though...

I'd be interested in some feedback too. Heard lots of great things and all. I also have the chance to see them in Saskatoon in May.

i'm pretty sure i just blew the chance to see him here. This name change pisses me off.

i was listening to Go Girl Crazy! last night and totally stewed over this whole issue. It's a shame, because it's ruining a classic album for me. I'd like to hear the new one vry much.

Since it's the name of the town I live in, I now have two bands to crack lame jokes about.

-Caribou Spoon

I grew up in Atikokan Ontario. Atikokan is roughly 'caribou bones' in Ojibway. I knew of a guy whose name was Caribou Spoon from a First Nation's reserve outside my town.

I think the album is great. It's more Neu! (at points), while "Up In Flames" was obviously more dream pop, which I don't dig.

This is on the backburner now because since 'Rip It Up And Start Again' came through my letterbox I've just been pulling Magazine and Josef K albums.

It's a solid record, more focused than his last but less poppy and psychedelic. It deserves some spins, but I don't think it will compete with up in flames long term. However, if you get the chance to see him live, absolutely go. The man tours with two drummers and a shit ton of gear, and the results are amazing.
