wow. that 200 million sure goes a long way against the mighty devil rays. i don't konw how many 13 run innings the yanks can count on, but i do know that if you are giving up 8 runs to the deviled eggs, you have problems. is there a team in the al that has given up as many runs as the yanks so far this year? i don't think there is.

I guess if the team I rooted for won the World Series and another team were still considered the team to beat in my division despite getting off to a 4-8 start, I'd be pretty bitter too.

i like how when redsox fans complain about/bring up the yankees payroll they seem to be forgetting that Boston has the 2nd highest payroll in MLB this year and last year

So what's up with RJ? This is the third start in a row where he's sucked ass, right?

He hasn't pitched like himself, but I wouldn't say he's sucked ass. He only gave up 6 hits and struck out 8 through 7 1/3 innings. 2 of the hits were homeruns though.

His 5 ER allowed though are misleading as he'd given up 3 and gave way to Tom Gordon who looks like the worst pitcher in the league this year, who let two more in which were charged to Johnson. Gordon's ERA got better from this outing....just shows how stats don't show everything. Jeter made a big error in the inning also which cost a run.

I'm not really worried about Johnson. He's looked great at times but hasn't dominated over a whole game. The announcers have attributed it to still needing to build armstrength. He usually dominates early in games then gets into trouble in the mid to late innings. Still, He's certainly pitched well enough to win most of the games he's pitched though. Yankees just haven't been able to consistently able to score runs in his games and the bullpen has absolutely sucked this year. He must feel like he's still in AZ.
