...which is pretty huge and opens a hole for Bernie Sanders to some through and whip some ass. Go tell him to run.

I'd rather Dean run that Bernie Sanders. Just what the Democratic Party needs: an ACTUAL socialist to confirm all the bs they put up about us.

Oh, and any of you fuckers who think that a move to the left will help Democrats nationally, I was shown some pretty interesting focus group info on feelings about democrats down here in my parts. All Dems are:
John Kerry loving liberal (wants higher taxes, not strong on defense)
Pro Gay Rights
corrupt
Bill Clinton esque in character (Do Not Share My Values)

we're fucked. Hospital Association, Nursing Home Association and even TRIAL LAWYERS are going Republican.

hate to say it man, but most of us gave up on "feelings about democrats down here in my parts" a long time ago. i would think that most dems now view the deep south as unwinnable.

But that's the point -- he's not a Democrat, he's a Socialist.

I would think, to a certain extent, though, that neither main-line party, neither Dem. nor Rep., would want Sanders in the Senate. To have a third-party incursion into that, and not just in the form of a strong finish in a general election not netting a win -- see: the Libertarian finishing second to Ted Kennedy two cycles ago, when the Reps. did not put up a candidate of any snuff (as in, up to...) -- would be a boon for Libs., Greens, Constis. (as in, Constitution Party; formerly, American Independent Party); it would show that there is a possibility of a second or third means to doing things in government and infrastructure.

Y' know? Y' know??

That's cos most of y'all don't know shit, jocko. Your state of residence has a Dem Governor and a Dem Lt. Gov with a good chance of becoming governor. Your home state has a 2 term Dem Gov and a Dem Majority in the House. Tennessee has a Dem Gove and majority in the House. Alabama has significant majorities in the House and Senate. Mississippi has a majority in the House. until 2002 Georgia has NEVER had a Republican Gov. and held the House until last year. in 2002 MS, AL, GA, SC, NC and VA all had Dem Govs. So, we are not yet an extinct species. Embattled, yes, but the tide will turn back.

Yeah, and it ain't turning back on a bunch of ultra-left/socialist bullshit either; Sorry to all y'all commies. The party (my party, not some bullshit) is coming back on views that represent the middle views of middle class working class america.

Louisiana was so traditionally democratic it's ridiculous. Still has a Dem as Gov and Lt. Gov. In fact, Mitch Landrieu should seriously be consider as a future "face of the party." We've only had two legitmate republicans as governor.

Yep, and one of the ways to get all these seats back is to get back to traditional Democratic values...and by actually putting up a fight rather than letting them frame the decate and then countering with bullshit about "Working Families" and "Saving Social Security," although Bush kinda gave us new life on the latter.

In the words of my Physics prof: "Of course Foster is anti-gun control. His head looks like a slug from a .45 for christ's sake."

As for Vermont, I hope the race features Ben vs. Jerry.

Kucinich/Sanders '08! Come on, give us pinko commies a chance. :P

Another good candidate to watch is my representative, Sherrod Brown. He might run for governor of Ohio in the near future and if he wins, it will be a huge victory for the progressive left side of the party. He's very popular over here and still quite young, so he has many of years ahead of him in politics.

Gov. Foster was one of the worst governors in our state's history. That's pretty hard to do considering our state. He did absolutely nothing.
