How is this? I've read some reviews that give me mixed feelings about whether I'd dig it or not.

It's better some days than others. I bought it because I heard the song "Fistful Of Love" and really liked the R&B build-up, but the rest of the album is much more subdued. The guy has a voice that sounds like Bryan Ferry mixed with Nina Simone (with a heaping of Jobriath on top), which is to say slightly nasal with an involuntary waver. Some days it sounds like one of the greatest voices ever, and then on other days it annoys the thud outta me - so I can't give it a %100 recommendation, but I will say I've never regretted the purchase.

It's indeed solid. Definitely worth an initial listen for you, billy g.
