In the US South there are some strange names...I've seen "Wonderful", "Happy", "Purple"...

My bf met someone at work called Monica, which one would think sounds like MON-A-CA. She corrected him abruptly with, "No, MO-NEEK-A" and she wasn't foreign born.

I had one of my moments of losing respect when I heard his character say this on Scrubs. He totally stole this from Mitch Hedburg, who to my knowledge, is the originator of this joke.

It's not even a big deal, but it really bugged me. haha

The funniest names of people I have met are these two:

Jim James

&

Bill Williams.

There isn't much originality in Wisconsin

One of my best friends as a child was named Krishnendu. And his brother was Sharnendu.

Which might not be so strange. They're probably common names in Pakistan.

But the English translation of Krishnendu was Neil.

That always got me.

i believe this is correct.

i went to kindergarten with two african american twins (boys) named, as far as i could tell, "jumbo" and "singbay". probably not the right spelling, but i figured they either had really creative or stoned parents. or maybe they were somali or something.

had a friend in high school named jim jones.

another friend named justin case.

and a piano teacher named joan jones

Yeah my mom is an ob/postpartem nurse... She would come home with doozys all the time, but I remember in particular this one dumb teenager named her daughter first name Filthy, middle name Rich.

With a name like that, i hope the girl grows up to be a looker, cause the only way she'll make that name make her some cake is as a porn star. The title possibilities are endless.

In other name news, I'm playing bass for a woman named Starina.
