I sometimes wonder if libs think that a dollar left in the hands of a private citizen is going to get sewn into their mattress where it can't possibly do any good unless freed by taxes to be spent more wisely by govt bureaucrats.
If we want to solve "the hunger problem," why don't we just pass a law requiring anyone above a certain income or wealth level to have with them at all times a cooler full of delicious ham sandwichs which they are required to share with anyone who appears to be hungry. It couldn't be less effective than the tax & spend programs in effect or being pushed by libs.
LIBS LIKE GEORGE BUSH?!?

Coding for the "right" and the Right. We invoke the talking points and critical analysis is trumped by the true believers. Where is Eric Hoffer when you need him....
We spend huge amounts of money for corporate subsidy, military waste, bridges in Alaska which go nowhere. This "let's stop them from taxing and spending" conservative administration has spent more, in debt, than ever in history.
The question is not whether we spend, it's what is accomplished by the spending.
And "college is available to all" comment above... surely you are high.
We agree harry, and MAYBE, if we could communicate to people "at the arbors and the forks of the creeks," we could get that message accross.
The problem with this "against your economic interest" argument is that everywhere you look there is money and progress. (Well, maybe not you, but you know...)
"Its sad to see the world agree that they'd rather see their faces filled with fries" I get that, but you know, find a new way of saying that "YOU ARE VOTING AGAINST YOUR ECONOMIC INTEREST" the reason people hate Democrats is that the PERCEPTION is of people who think they are smarter than you telling you what to do.
The New Deal is over, The Great society is over, the Lib-Lab coalition is OVER!! And cannot be put together again.
The beauty of this whole thing is that the Repubs had a plan and put into action, and instead of really fighting them, or coming up with our plan we start saying things like "It was better when we were in power." Well, for who motherfucker?!
Sorry, but the problem with generals and politicians is they always want to fight the last war. Well, Rommel, you magnificent bastard, I read your book. And I can think of a lot of ways to make a Democratic comeback simpler, but it doesn't really involve crying about how much simpler things were when daddy had a union job and momma was a schoolteacher.
