The Greatest Game ever – STUMP
The object of stump is simple - be the last person to have your nail standing. I will attempt to describe how the game is played, but it is simply much easier to demonstrate.
1) Each player nails their nail about one quarter of the way into the top of the stump.
2) Each player then takes turns (individually, not simultaneously) throwing their hammer in the air end over end. The player must then catch the hammer after one revolution and in a FLUID MOTION attempt to strike someone else's nail. If you don't hit any nails, you drink. If you hit someone else's nail but it is not totally pounded into the stump, that person drinks. If you pound someone else's nail into the stump that player must finish his/her beer. Note: It is frowned upon in the world of stump to hit a nail with any part of the hammer other than the part designed to hit nails. It is also frowned upon to not catch and swing in a fluid motion. If a player does one of these frowned upon actions, it is expected that other players in the game comment on how said action is frowned upon.
3) As the game continues, you are allowed to take your turn to either:
a) Fix your nail
b) Toss the hammer and try to hit someone else's nail
A player may want to fix his/her nail because they feel it is too close to being hit into the stump, thus ending their participation in said round.
4) As players are eliminated, the order of players is noted for the end of round waterfall. Obviously the last player standing starts the waterfall and the first player out is at the end.
5) Players play until they do not want to play any more.
Flaming stump is the same, only with a stump doused with lighter fluid and lit on fire.
I do not recommend anyone ever play either version of this game, I was only explaining how the game works.
