Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Aside from the bogans on ecstasy (i swear i pushed this one guy to the ground and told him to fuck off about ten times but he kept getting up and dancing even closer to me), it was a good show. Not loud enough though. Karen O is hottttt.
The exact same thing happened to me on Thursday when I saw them at the Enmore! During the
support band (Van She) they were headbanging and thrashing all over the place and subjecting me to their foul-smelling hair. An ever-widening circle formed around them.
I thought we'd lost them for when YYYs came on, but halfway through when people were jumping around they ended up close again. Gross.
Also seen at this show - old dude (late 40s at least) with girlfriend 20 years younger being
that guy - trying to be cool and dancing along and pretty much dry humping his girlfriend right in front of everyone. At least they disappeared by the time I got back from the bar for YYYs.
This is a large part of the reason why I don't like seeing bands in venues larger than The Metro (RIP)
And, the bassist from Van She was sporting the most awesomely hilarious pair of tights, without anything over the top, that I have ever witnessed
