i didn't even watch it and i'm already terrified. my dad used to own many motorcycles and we'd go riding on them a lot.
i have a deep respect for harley owners, or any real "bike" owners but i don't have as much respect for sports bike owners simply because of the way i see them drive their bikes around richmond. it's irresponsible.
one day i hope to have a harley.
I don't know if it's a regional thing or what, but most of the Harley riders around here are complete tools. They're the "I own the road, you merely travel on it because I allow you to" types who make driving seriously stressful and dangerous. I'm always, always,
always courteous around motorcycle riders because I realize how dangerous most people drive around them, but one day I had one guy road-raging me because I dared to pass him in the fast lane when he decided to randomly speed up and slow down for miles - with not a single car in front of him for hundreds of feet. I gave him a huge buffer while behind him, but he would still drift back, then shoot forward, drift back, shoot forward, swerve from side to side, etc. As soon as I moved to pass him, he guns it, stares me down while yelling something I obviously couldn't hear. I lucked out when he had to slow down for other cars in front of him, then jumped back in the lane. A few moments later, he'd apparently freaked out the cars separating us who quickly exited the lane and he got right on my tail, all the while yelling and gesturing at me. All for absolutely no reason other than he didn't like my presence.
I think motorcycles are great, but most of the people who ride them aren't qualified to ride the 25-cent bucking kiddie-cycles outside the grocery store.
