"good vibrations" by the beach boys. (the original version, even though the new one is alright, but the original is untouchable.)

it's just such an amazing pop song. and it has all the elements needed for the best song ever. mellow part, rockin' part, cello, theremin. probably just the finest example of brian wilsons top notch song writing capabilities.

and for me, it's just gorgeous. just as his name is alive. they know what i'm talking about.

Most days it's:

"Walk Away Renee" by The Left Banke

Some days it could be:

"Another Girl, Another Planet" by The Only Ones
"Rave On" by Buddy Holly
"Uncontrollable Urge" by Devo
"Victoria" by the Kinks
"Police Truck" by the Dead Kennedys

or a host of other songs, depending on my mood.

Otis is by far my favorite singer, so i'm a bit biased.

Otis' version is sick, but Sam was on some black Bob Dylan shit when he came up with this'n. I used to love this song, but it was the hold music for a campaign I worked that was particularly gar, so it is somewhat tainted in my mind, but awesome nonetheless.
