Bah! You guys are no fun! Really, look for this show that gets played a lot on VH1 Classic. Sure there were some good things about the 80's, but they really dont compare to the mindset of today. Maybe I am delusional and not remembering the 80's with as much fondness. After all, it was a time of nerdy bliss.
To fully engage the crux of my argument, you gotta see these people dancing to Men at Work, and early early U2. This was the MTV Cancun Spring Break of its era!
Yeah I can't get on board with where you're going here. The 80's were awesome.
Somewhere in the deep recesses of my brain I still hold the tight torn jeaned, bleach blonde, huge hair sprayed hair, party girl as some sort of epitome of hottness. Probably because when I was an awkward 12-13 year old that was the look all the older girls rocked. Something kinda trashy about the whole look which made it all the more irresistable.
BUT, also in that era , was the short haired winona ryder type girls with the Smiths button on their back pack which held an appeal as well.
Not sure exactly what standard you're thinking of in your head that makes our current times any better really.
Good looking is good looking. In any era.
