Well. Took a half day this morning to recover because I don't do weekday hangovers so well anymore.
2nd time seeing 'em and they did not disappoint once again. Despite what anyone thinks about Shane's singing (which sounded fine to me) the band are straight PLAYERS. They just
sounded incredible. All of them. I'm always blown away by all the instruments they use on stage and how each one absolutley MAKES the song. I love Jem Finer. He's their utility man. Dude played a half dozen different things during the night. Mostly the banjo though. Shane was having to get oxygen off stage during the songs he wasn't singing.
I only saw one guy get really out of control and he got dragged out by his neck in a straight choke hold to the drunken cheers of everyone around. No idea what he did though. Of course, their music makes it almost impossible to listen to and NOT start pounding beers and joining in the revelry. The vibe is always so great. Very communal.
Got to meet TENTOZE THE ANIMAL STEELE who, like everyone I've met on here, is completely good people. Thanks for the beer man. Pretty sure I told you this last night (I think) but it's pretty cool you got to share that experience with your boys. Hope you guys found a decent watering hole post show.
All in all, you DC/Boston/NYC folks need to go see 'em if at all possible. You WILL have a good time. No way around it.
