Forigve me for taking "and that AA is where the truest comedy springs eternal" the wrong way. I agree that I could possibly have misinterpreted that. However, I don't think I did.
Also, I don't believe anything I said in my previous post was self-righteous. NOTE: I am not personally in recovery. But I have been to about 600 meetings.
I concede. I don't know everything about everyone's experience. My issue came from the brief discussion on forging slips and comments like: "I tagged along to an AA meeting with my buddy once and I couldn't stop snickering at some of the stories the people told." The forging slips is linked to my discussion of extremely limited experience. And, the comment quoted refers to the making fun of the people that attend. I am fully capable of admitting to my sensitivity to this specific topic. It's kinda my whole life right now. And, I in no way attempt to argue that I am not judgmental at times or anything of the sort. I have my inconsistencies. I am sensitive to the topic. Maybe I will take the advice that's been given many times before: don't come into a thread if you know it's something that's gonna piss you off. I should heed my own logic. Granted, I didn't exactly know I was gonna get pissy.
The tears never came buddy. Nobody's crying. And, I certainly didn't mean to come off as self-righteous. But, I do believe that there are people that post on here about topics they know nothing or very little about. Most of the time I ignore it. It's kinda like when Bill Maher talks about religion and makes claims about God when it seems that he knows nothing or very little about God or religion beyond an intellectual level which frankly, isn't enough.
P.S. CHASE: Is that response to me a direct quote from the asshole doctor on Scrubs or did you come up with it all on your own?
