Well, he does it at our local community theater (which has a pretty great reputation) and he loves it.

Thanks to a referral from one of his directors there, he was invited to audition for the Chicago on Broadway production of Billy Elliot last week.
HE GOT A CALLBACK!!!

I took him for his second audition last night. At the frikkin Oriental Theater!
We find out in a couple of days whether or not he gets to play the role of Billy's best friend Michael. Due to child labor laws, they need several actors to play the role, so we'll see...

He had a blast at the auditions and has a great attitude about the whole thing:
"I know that I might not get it, Dad. And that's fine, because this was a lot of fun!"

LINK TO THE SHOW.

Damn. This is frikkin huge.
We find out in a couple of days whether or not he got it. Either way, we are going to go see the show.

Get that kid a SAG and an AEA card, also an agent.
I'm joking about the agent, but does this gig guarantee a base actor rate?
If he gets this, he'd be well ahead of numerous drama kids from around the country I see every year during the Thespian Festival here at UNL.

They're actually going to need 3 or 4 kids to play the role because of the child labor laws.
And, as far as any money he'll make (if he gets it), that will go straight into a college savings account for him.

Thanks.
Oh, and apparently, he did audition for Stephen Baldry at the first audition.
Not sure if he was there last night or not. (Parents weren't at the auditions.)
