I just need a place to crash/jack it in relative comfort, and away from the humidity. And, lure chicks back and hang over the mirror.

I probably wouldn't eat much, but the booze and the golf carts and the not having to deal with common street trash is what it's all about for me.

Convince them to dump Dave Matthews Band as a closing act and I'll RIDE the fucking pig there.

The Flaming Lips/DSOTM, Black Keys and Chromeo with Daryl Hall conflict is killer. Wish I could catch all three. Jay-Z and Dan Deacon conflicting is less of a big deal, but I wish I could see them both in entirety. Hope to catch Conan and Aziz each at least once, but the lines for comedy were insane last year.

The XX closing out Thursday night on the main stage could be pretty cool.

I am SUPER pumped about LCD Soundsystem being from 2:30-4am on Friday night. I was afraid they might put them in the middle of the day like they did with Animal Collective last year. Awful decision.

I know you're kidding, but DMB mgr is one of the investors in the fest. You won't be riding hogs anytime soon (unless you're a *fag)

Here's who I saw

06/10/10 - Local Natives/Miike Snow/Neon Indian/Mayer Hawthorne & the Country/The Temper Trap/The xx
06/11/10 - Jay Electronica/Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros/The National/She & Him/Nitty Gritty Dirt Band/Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers/The Moondoggies/Dawes/Kings of Leon/Warpaint/Bassnectar/Darryl Hall & Chromeo
06/12/10 - Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights/ISIS/The Avett Bros/Mumford & Sons/The Dead Weather/Weezer/Steve Wonder/Jay-Z
06/13/10 - Ween/Rise Against/Phoenix

Highlights: Both surprising coming from me...Steve Wonder (I mean how many incredibly good songs does this guy have in his repertoire?!?) and JAY-Z (I was watching from a hill that overlooks the mainstage area of the festival grounds, and the Jigga had 80,000 people in the palm of his hand. I'm not a hip-hop fan and this was THE best show of the weekend and one of the best shows I've seen in the last few years. Dude is a fucking rock star in an era where that is an endangered species of performer).

Lowlights: The XX (possibly the most boring band I've ever seen live), Kings of Leon (also very boring) and Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers (again, boring)

Midlights: The National were pretty good live. Considering their albums aren't what you'd call happy and upbeat, their live show was pretty rockin'; The Flaming Lips backdrop/LED screen was trippy as hell, but I was too far away from them to really get into the set. That sucks becuase hearing them play DSOTM would've been interesting.
I also dug Miike Snow, The Moondoggies and Isis. Wish I had seen more of Edward Sharpe, but like much of the weekend I was running all over the place trying to accommodate people.

Stuff I've never seen and have yet to see because I missed them while trying to accommodate other people: Conan O'Brien, The Melvins, Baroness, Eclectic Method, Calexico, Japandroids

As reported in the "hey guys, let's post" thread, it was hot as hell in Manchester. Highs in the lower-mid 90s with heat indices in the low 100s. I stayed about 40min away on a lake and as soon as I stepped out of the door on Friday morning I began sweating and didn't stop until I was back early Saturday morning. It was painful at times and I really wish I had just bough a bandana. I kept myself from dehydrating by drinking countless Vitamin Water and vodkas and kept myself from going insane by smoking plentiful amounts of the sticky green stuff.

Also re: the mid-TN heat...the CMA Music Fest in Nashville was also this weekend when 100,000 country bumpkins, diabetics, coronary bypass candidates and Kate Goselin look-a-likes descend upon Nashville. Apparently 500+ people were treated for heat exhaustion and 2 people died (only 1 death reported at Bonnaroo). I guess the hippies know how to drink water when it's hot. Negative stuff aside, it brought in millions to the downtown business affected by the May flood, so good on all ya'll!!

Thursday - Fanfarlo, Here We Go Magic, Local Natives, Neon Indian, Blitzen Trapper
Friday - Jay Electronica, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, She and Him, The National, Kings of Leon, Flaming Lips/Dark Side, LCD Soundsystem
Saturday - USA/England, The Avett Brothers, Weezer, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z
Sunday - Aziz Ansari, Japandroids, Phoenix

I am just now starting to recover from exhaustion and general lack of sleep. We drove through the night Wednesday and got to Bonnaroo at about 4:30am Thursday morning. Got our tent compound set up by 9am and got about an hour's nap. Trucked it through the rest of the day but had to leave Blitzen Trapper early because I just needed some rest.

Friday was the busiest day for me. I love The National, but was a little wary of an outdoor set for them. I was pleasantly surprised when it seemed to work out really well for them and they were really pretty engaging. I was also pretty drunk. Went back to camp and kept drinking before Kings of Leon. Only sorta remember that, but kind of annoyed our tent neighbors (some cool girls from Salt Lake City who hung out at our compound most of the weekend) with my drunken singing. I then lost my group and wandered over to Flaming Lips. I actually passed out watching the Flaming Lips set but woke up for DSOTM, which was really cool. Left early to get to LCD Soundsystem, which was the show of the festival for me. But way way too short (a 1.5 hr set). I feel like they could have played for at least another hour, but there were some technical difficulties and James Murphy got a little sick of getting hit with glow sticks. Still, a high energy set that was just ridiculously awesome. Afterwards we wandered over to the Lunar Stage and danced until about 5:30 and stayed up until past 6am that night. Slept for only a couple of hours until it got too hot.

Watched the USA/England game Saturday with a huge crowd at the Lunar stage and then headed back to camp to rest up. Caught the end of the Avett Brothers, stayed for a little of Weezer before heading over to Stevie. Watched a bit of his set, but was passed out for a good bit of it. My one regret was not sticking around for Jay-Z, just figuring I could hear it from my tent (which I could). However, I was so exhausted that I only heard a few songs before passing out, again from exhaustion.

Sunday was spent waiting in line starting at 9:30 to see Aziz's 1:30 comedy show, which was really really funny. While we were waiting we caught some of Japandroids at the adjacent tent. Went back to the camp, finished the rest of our beer and liquor before Phoenix. Also, drunkenly broke down our camp. I only sorta remember Phoenix, and then we left afterwards, driving through the night with only a stop at a Steak and Shake somewhere on the way towards Atlanta. We got back to Charlotte around 5:30am and I slept a few hours before I helped get the stuff out of my friends SUV since he needed to leave.

Great great festival, but I might be getting too old for this shit.

One negative from this past year was less porta-lets and those that were around seemed to be cleaned less often than last year.

Also, it was HOT.
