Nothing.

NOLA retakes murder capital title from St. Louis, and it's not even close. 67 per 100,000 compared to 47. Yay, NOLA!

Maybe Nobody moved and didn't tell anyone.

i had really good nepalese food in st louis a few weeks ago.

otherwise, yeah, there's not much aside from great sightlines at the ballpark and a good record store in vintage vinyl.

Couple of months ago, I reconnected with an old friend after many years- turns out he is the co-owner of Vintage Vinyl.

Confirmed. Don't let it happen to your town.

Hey, it took an act of god to make your hell hole shittier than our hell hole. We'll be back.

And, just since I see it brought up a bit and 'cause I do like my town, I gotta say St. Louis does have a lot more than one good record store and sight lines at the ball game. It's not Chicago or New York or LA. On size alone, you gotta accept that. But, for a mid sized city, it's got a shit load to offer. Excellent parks, including completely free zoo, art museum, science center and more. A high quality symphony. Plenty of nightlife (although admittedly not the most accessible if you're not local and don't know where to go). The City Museum, which is a unique attraction for all ages that you should check out when you're in town. They stay open until 1 AM and serve drinks on the weekends. Several good sections of town for ethnic restaurants along with a ever-growing more fine dining type of scene. Free concerts all over town in the summertime, even got Sonic Youth playing a free gig under the arch this year. Incredibly cheap cost of living. Driving distance to Chicago, Memphis and other nearby locales.

And, while Vintage Vinyl is a good record store, there actually an even better one, in my opinion, Euclid records, especially if you like jazz. I'd put their jazz section up against anyone. And for vinyl junkies that wanna sift through stacks and stacks of poorly organized records, you can spend hours combing through the Record Exchange, an old converted library overflowing with vinyl. There's also a good sized record fair held every other month where you can score lots of great deals, so record hunting opportunities are actually a strength around here.

So no, St. Louis isn't one of the biggest cities in the country so if you come here expecting that, you'll be disappointed. But, it's a far cry from a place that's got nothing to offer. Anytime I think of moving, I really struggle to come up with a place to live that I could afford that has anything more, really.

I like to buy Imo's for out-of-towners just to watch the look on their faces. Actually, I haven't had Imo's in a long time. Bar around the block from me makes their own version which is pretty much the same thing, but cheaper and with better, fresher ingredients. Half price Monday's and Tuesdays along with $3 pints of Guinness.

I've said it a few times on the board, but after just one visit to STL, I liked it. Femdisco's sister is considering moving there. No, nobody, you can't add her to your harem.

I'm still too afraid to try imo's.

euclid's vinyl selection is tons better than vintage, but otherwise, i find myself going back to vintage more often than euclid.

Was wondering which one you were talking about. Don't know him, but have run into him a couple times, friend of a friend kinda thing. I still hit Vintage Vinyl about as often as Euclid, better location.

If you wanna try Imo's style pizza, check out Riley's on Arsenal. Same style, but better. Good specials on pizza and beer too.

Visited St. Louis last week. It was fairly cool and an attractive city. I liked it.

However, Imo's was disgusting. Provel is absolutely nasty. But Pi was as good a deep dish pizza as I've had in Chicago.

Fucking Ditto on City Museum!
Both the Coin-Op Arcade Museum & The International Bowling Hall Of Fame!
Budweiser tour (but use to be far better back in the day)
Ditto all the record store mentioned.
Ted Drewes Frozen Custard.
The Magic House.
Everything in Forrest Park (museum, zoo, etc...)
Imo's does rock btw.
Italian food on the Hill.
The Central West End
Soulard (except I still miss Hullaballoo)
Seeing Adam Ant back in 1984 and Tom Waits two years ago at the Fabulous Fox theater!
Blueberry Hill, Cicero's & Mississippi Nights.

St. Louis is an odd mix of East Coast sensibility cohabitating with its midwestern location and population.

That Tom Waits show was pretty great.

I've not been to City Museum for quite some time. You want a quick visit Friday night, let me know when you'll be around Stu.

Returning to the top of the most murderous cities list must be a TREMEtic experience for New Orleans.

My schedule is pretty loose and I'll be with my future sister-in-law (I can see your disapproving eyes through the interweb).

St. Louis has reclaimed the title as America's Most Dangerous City over Camden N.J. Congrats, Nobody.

We've all been working very hard on that. Just glad to see it paid off and wasn't all in vain.
