Saturday:
Slept in a little bit, watched college football in our room before heading to the casino where some of the guys already were. I mostly watched football at the Masquerade Bar with Mark and drank Abita Ambers while others gambled. Before we left my best man Kenny hit $25 on 17 on the roulette wheel and won $875, which he stupidly lost $300 of later by betting on a Matrix quote at dinner against J-Twice. Speaking of which, for dinner we ended up going to Dick and Jenny's, which was awesome and some of the best food I've ever had. Unfortunately we didn't see any bars nearby, so we went back to our hotel room since we had a handle of vodka to kill. Promptly invented a new drink (new to us) called the Tropical Depression - vodka and hawaiian punch. Went back to Bourbon St, saw a girl throw a drink in a bouncer's face, where she was promptly slammed against the wall and detained by 2 other bouncers before 3 horse cops came a-storming in and nearly trampled over J-Twice and several other pedestrians. This night was a little more tame, but still stayed out until about 3am drinking and dancing with the cute girls sent my way.

Sunday:
Lunch at Acme. I had the Peacemaker (supposedly #4 in the country on some sandwich list), but several folks had the raw oysters (which we couldn't get at Drago's for some reason).

J-Twice got me an oyster shooter, which was pretty much awful.

Most people left from there, but J-Twice and Kenny and I had a few hours to kill, which we naturally did at the casino. Kenny lost another $200 and J-Twice won another $200, bringing his total winnings on the weekend to over $2200 (though he only picked up two cabs - a sore spot for Kenny).

Eventhough I got back at 7 on Sunday night, I was too exhausted to work and ended up taking off Monday to recover. The late nights caught up with me, and they are definitely getting harder and harder to do. I was also proud that I was able to maintain my shit over the weekend and not get too blackout drunk or vomit - which a couple other guys did.

Anyways, the girls in New Orleans are hot, Bourbon Street was fun (though I would have liked to have gone elsewhere too), and I would definitely recommend it for a bachelor party destination. Thanks for all of the suggestions. Even though we may not have used some of them, I appreciate them all.

Also, these beads that Boomsauce (background) stole from a bar the first night were a huge hit the entire weekend (Kenny pictured wearing beads, J-Twice next to him).

Yea, we have joked about being a sort of UN since our high school days.

In that photo we have 1 african-american, 1 nigerian, 3 irish-filipinos, 1 chinese-thai, 1 indian, 1 of sicilian decent, 2 white guys and 1 fat guy.

The next time I'm asked to give my race on some kind of survey, I'm going to check the "other" box and write in "fat".

How much did they charge for that Magnum one? I didn't even know it existed. I'm not sure how large the large single glasses are but I've found in my experience, any more than two of them are usually a bad idea so I can see one of those magnums really destroying a group.

I hate those hand grenades.

The Magnum was $100 plus a $75 refundable deposit for the 5 gallon glass. You have to email or call weeks ahead of time (my best man emailed maybe 2 months in advance), especially on a Friday since they usually don't like to do them on the weekends. And we had to finish by 3pm so they don't have to worry about the courtyard getting crowded and someone accidentally breaking the glass.

It was definitely a fun experience. Especially when a bunch of people approached us, either wanting to take photos of the glass. Definitely a lot of sugar though. A side beer would have been nice to cut the sugar a little bit.

Ah, that explains why I'd never seen anyone with one there. I've never been there in the afternoon and only been to N.O. on jazzfest weekends. They'd probably say no to anyone who requested one in the evening on one of those nights. I've got to say I'm impressed with how much ice is left in the magnum glass. You must have finished that pretty quickly.

Awesome Tommy! Shit looks like it was a blast. For a cost to debauchery ratio, there really isn't a better city for a Bach party. If given the choice between an all expense paid party to NOLA or Vegas, I'm going NOLA everytime.

Agreed on the oyster shooters. BLECH. Got a couple places that do 'em here in town. Did it once, will never do it again. I'll either eat an oyster or take a shot of vodka. Not both.

Looks like you guys did it up nicely. Well played.

Yea, we finished it off right around 40 minutes, if not a little under.

Took one too many of these in Ocean Beach last Thursday night. They ended up all over the bar's floor and my hotel rooms bathroom.

Also, in the big group pic, which is the one who got his nose broken?

Sounds like a weekend for the books.

Also, glad you guys got to stop by the Carousel Bar. If I ever stay in a hotel in the Quarter again, that will be the spot.

Pretty pimp spot.

Yea, I wanted to check it out and have a Vieux Carre. Unfortunately, it was too busy for us to be able to sit at the rotating bar, but I liked the place.
