Always better to have these types of people out in the open, to give them a platform, to have their picture in the newspaper. I don't have a lot of faith in electorates but I'm pretty sure he won't win any elections, or even come close.
But I'd also contest that he's actually a Nazi since he denies one of the fundamental precepts of Nazism - the extermination of the Jews. It's a bit like someone claiming to be a Christian but denying the existence of Jesus.
What he and his type are really are a sort of wide eyed innocent, albeit of an unsettling variety.
Ignorant, yes, narrow minded, yes, bigoted, yes, but the overriding flaw in the holocaust denier is a unworldly naivety towards the evil that lies dormant in every human being; the failure to realize, the lack of intellect to deduce that petty minded bigotry, irrational opinions, stupid beliefs, an unwavering propensity to disconnect from reality, an unfettered belief in utopia and the creation of scapegoats to thwart the idiots daydream, all that lead to industrialized murder at the end of a hundred rail lines. Hitler, on the other hand, knew exactly where it led.
I remember some years ago a British documentary taking two holocaust denying skinhead 'neo-Nazis' to Auschwitz. They were both full of bluster and confidence in their nasty little world view until reality hit them smack in the face when they visited the death camp. Both wept.
Arthur Jones may be an ignoramus, a dim wit, a dunce, a simpleton, an anti-Semite and generally a pathetic little man but he's not a Nazi, even if that's what he imagines himself to be.
